via Mashable: More than 600,000 iPhone 4 units have been pre-ordered by customers over the last 24 hours, leaving both AT&T and Apple sold out of initial shipments.

Sad to say but all this pre-launch hype might force me to break down and get the new iPhone.

I’ve asked myself this question every time a new iPhone has come out and despite not having a really good reason for it, the answer remains YES.

My Top 10 iPhone Apps

My entire life is on my iPhone. I don’t know what I’d do without it. Below is a listing of my top ten favorite iPhone apps (not in any particular order).

  1. MLB At Bat 2010: If I’m not home this app provides a great way for me to keep track of the scores and stats (especially my Mets). I remember last summer we took a family trip to Barbados and one evening everyone was inside the hotel relaxing. I was able to go outside, sit by the pool, tap into the hotel wireless connection and watch a live Mets game on my phone. Ever since then I’ve been hooked.
  2. TweetDeck: Great for organizing your twitter friends into groups/lists and managing multiple user accounts while on the go.
  3. Facebook: I probably access Facebook more on my iPhone app than I do the computer.
  4. foursquare: Great community for letting people know where you are and for doing a quick check on how others feel about a certain location (tips).
  5. Tumblr: I mainly use the Tumblr app to check really quick what others are blogging about and for re-blogging interesting stuff.
  6. Wordpress: I mainly use this app for my New York Mets blog: On The Black. Sometimes I’ll set up blog posts ahead of time and use this iPhone app to push a post live.
  7. Sirius XM: I use this app at night time when I’m trying to rock my 2 year old to sleep. The Jazz stations usually work best :)
  8. Linkedin: This is the primary way I stay in touch with my professional contacts. The cool feature about this app is it allows you to download your Linkedin connections into your iPhone address book.
  9. PNC Bank Mobile: I pay a majority of my bills from my iPhone. So this app allows me to check my bank balance when needed.
  10. Fangraphs: As I get more into the use of Sabermetrics, this app helps me in my development.

So these are my top 10 iPhone apps. What are yours?
